The Men in My Life

Since I seem to be surrounded by men in all parts of my life, I thought I would post some pictures of all my men!

Here is my Dad with my Mom. This was taken from a hike we took on a family vacation last summer. He looks pretty young, doesn't he!?
Here is my older brother, Chris. He's 27 - looking young runs in the family!
This is my younger brother, Scott. He's 20 and the baby of our family - he's away at college.
Here is the other baby of our family - our dog, Max! I just don't think you can find a better dog than Max. He's 4 years old and the sweetest dog in the world.
Here is my "new" dog, Bailey! He's Michael's Golden Retriever that will soon be mine, too! Bailey has just turned 2 years old, so he's not quite this small anymore. He's pretty cute, too :)
And of course, Michael!
I have to say, I like being the only girl (except for of course, my Mom and Chris's wife, Michelle)! Love you all! :)

Sold!

We had a great time at the silent auction last night. The food was great, we met lots of fun and interesting people, and we even bid on a few items! We actually ended up winning this cute wine cabinet. It's wood, but painted a pretty black, and has space for 6 wine bottles and about 8 wine glasses. The cabinet also came with 6 bottles of wine, 4 cute wine glasses, and a basket of wine accessories! We lucked out with the whole package for $80 (and it even went to a good cause)! Being that we are wine enthusiasts, this cabinet was the perfect item for our new home together. Here is a picture (excuse the ugly carpet - it's not mine):

I forgot to take pictures of us at the actual event; I promise I'll get better at that though. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'm going out to dinner with my family tonight - always a good time!

Friday!

The best day of the week is here! I LOVE Fridays! I'm so excited for the weather to get nice too...it's supposed to beautiful here all weekend.

Tonight, I'm going out to dinner with my parents. It'll probably be an early bedtime for this old lady, since I'm so worn out by Friday night.

Tomorrow, Michael and I are just hanging out until the benefit in the evening. I'm so excited; I've never gone to anything like this before. I just love getting dressed up, but there's usually no occasion. There is a silent auction at the benefit with some awesome vacations, spa treatments, and other fantastic items, but Michael told me I'm not allowed to bid on anything :) Oh, well!

By the way, I ordered the J.Crew bathing suit last night...whoops! I just loved it and couldn't take the chance that it would sell out.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

The Letter "B"

My new blog friend Tara at Jimmy Choos and Tennis Shoes tagged me to play the letter game. If you want to play, leave a comment on this post and I'll give you a letter. You write 10 things you love that begin with your assigned letter - I have "B"!

1. Baking - I've mentioned this one before, but I love to bake! I probably like baking more than cooking. I have a sweet tooth, especially for cupcakes and cookies.

2. Books - I love to read. I read every night before I go to bed; it helps me unwind. I like almost every genre, except sci-fi!

3. Black labs - Actually, any labs. My family has a yellow and a black lab. They truly are the best dogs!

4. Boating - Going to the lake in the summer is one of my family's favorite activities. I'm ready for it be warm so we can go now!

5. Being a Bride - I love planning/organizing anything, so planning my wedding has been so much fun. I can't wait to actually be married!

6. Burritos - I actually like ALL Mexican food...it's my weakness. I especially love Chipotle burritos.

7. Beach - I LOVE the beach - any beach! My favorite is Hilton Head, SC or anywhere in the Caribbean.

8. The Bachelor - Love this show. Jason was my favorite on the Bachelorette, so I was pretty excited when he was announced as the new Bachelor. Jillian is my favorite on this season.

Ok, I can't think of 10...I'm bad at this game! Let me know if you want to play :)

Wedding Flowers

Flowers are always one of the things I notice most at a wedding. I've always loved flowers and I think they can make such a large impact on the whole feel of a wedding. I knew I wanted pink and green as my wedding colors, and as soon as I decided on pink, I knew I would definitely be using some peonies! They're such a traditional and beautiful flower for weddings. Nothing says spring wedding to me like them.
I saw this picture in the Knot Wedding Magazine last spring (right after I got engaged). I LOVE this bouquet! I love the mix of bright and link pink peonies, with the green hydrangea accents. I also love the little snapdragons that add the little hint of white for the bridal bouquet. I gave this picture to my florist and I'm planning on having a smaller version of this for my bouquet. My bridesmaids will carry a smaller version of mine, but without the white accents. I hope it turns out as beautiful as this bouquet!

I also love this simple bouquet. I love how large the peonies are in this one.

And of course, the all light pink peonies look beautiful against the wedding gown here.

Unfortunately, I don't have any inspiration pictures for my centerpieces. It's all in my head! My centerpieces are supposed to be a low, round bowl with full limes in the bottom. The flowers will be the peonies and hydrangea mix. I'm doing a sit-down dinner, so I did not want the centerpieces to be so large that my guests wouldn't be able to talk over them.

Please tell me what you think!

Candy Help!

For my wedding in May, I'm having the very popular candy buffet in my wedding colors: pink and green. I have already bought most of my jars for the candy, but I have not picked out any candy yet (other than pink M&Ms). I know lots of y'all have done candy buffets for your weddings - can you tell me the best and cheapest place to find bulk candy online? I know I definitely want some rock candy - I think it just looks so cute! Jelly beans are a definite also. Thanks for your help!
